People In The Airport

Part of my entertainment while traveling from place to place is watching the people I encounter. The vacationers are in their new traveling clothes, often surrounded by squealing children with action figure carry-on bags. Excitement and anticipation fill their eyes. Groups of blue-haired women sporting new perms, freshly dyed hair, pastel colored jackets and comfortable shoes gab and giggle. (read more...)

Zachary's Birthday Dinner

My grandson, Zachary, turned 12 last week. As is our tradition, we allowed him to select the restaurant for his celebration. As many 12 year olds do, he selected a place with loud music, poor acoustics, video game machines, fried everything and a wait-staff that was pretty close to his age. Ugh. Tilting My Hat To The Side

A few years ago, I began wearing hats...mostly in the winter. As I traveled around, I began to notice very competent looking women wearing hats as part of their everyday outer wear. These hats included everything from schoolboy caps and berets to fedoras with feathers. These women seemed to have one thing in common...confidence. (read more...)
